About Us

Valka-Mir Human Security Foundation is a unique research, development, and advisory foundation that was formed by PhD researchers with personal and professional experience in violent conflict zones. We came together to research the psychological motivations of genocide, ethnic cleansing, intractable conflict and interrelationships with malformed social realities. We are self-formed from associated researchers and practitioners over the past two decades. Our partners are leading experts in conducting multidisciplinary ethnographic and phenomenological analyses of the root causes of unconventional warfare, hybrid threats, intrastate political violence, and extremism. Valka-Mir's team has operated since 2010, developing science-based analysis and solutions to preventing and countering protracted human conflict and violence.

Valka-Mir researchers combine decades of experience working globally in conflict and post-conflict zones within governmental and non-governmental institutions, academia, and the public and private sectors. Valka-Mir researchers and analysts hold doctoral degrees in psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, diplomacy, security, and conflict analysis and resolution. The team brings extensive cross-cultural experience and has a collective proficiency in 25 languages.
